Lesson 10 - Collecting Your PayOnce you write an article for Associated Content and submit it for pay, you need to wait for them to review it before they will pay you and publish the article. Articles that are submitted for free can typically be published right away. The waiting time for them to get your article published is typically 2 full weeks, although it varies by topic. If you submit your story as a News Article, they review it within 24 hours to keep their content fresh. With each review on your article, you will get an offer. Associated Content will not publish your article unless you accept the offer. Once you accept, you cannot change your mind. Payment typically takes 3-4 business days to be processed, and your article might not appear live on AC's website for another 2-3 days after that. This is easily the most frustrating aspect of working for Associated Content. They take ages to get your writing up and out, and sometimes, you may write time sensitive content that might not get put on the web until the event has passed. Now, hopefully, you can see why we recommend writing evergreen content and seasonal content. As long as you're writing stuff that will continue to be important year after year, you have no reason to worry about the timing of your articles. Unless of course, you're anxious to get paid...and that, we can definitely understand.
