Lesson 3 - What You Can Write

Associated Content will pay for a whole bunch of different article topics, but not for everything. Here’s a little guide:

AC WILL NOT pay for fiction and Poetry, though these two categories account for a large percentage of pageviews for many writers. Thus, you are free to submit these pieces of content for no pay, and you can still collect on the pageviews, but unfortunately, there is no way, as of yet, to get paid for them upfront.

AC WILL NOT pay for editorial or opinion content in most cases, though there are occasional exceptions. They also do not typically pay for humor articles, though you are free to incorporate humor into a general article and submit it for pay.

AC WILL NOT pay for book, movie, or television show reviews. This is probably because most people looking for a review will head right off to Amazon where other people are willing to write reviews for free. These articles do not receive many pageviews, so they are not recommended in general.

AC WILL pay for product and website reviews, including the occasional video game, though initial pay is often rather low, and these articles rarely generate good pageviews

AC loves product reviews, as a matter of fact, and they especially like electronics. How-to articles will also do very well. If you want to write an article about a personal experience that you have had, they may or may not turn it down for payment, but it will often be a featured article on the main page of the website, generating tons and tons of pageviews.

In general, the best articles on Associated Content are about things that you already know about. If you have a passion for a certain sport or a hobby, write about it, and you will almost always do well.
